About Me

Who Am I?

I’m Adam Robertson, a college lecturer and newly freelance web developer from Lincolnshire, England. Since leaving university with a degree in computer science, I have been in my current teaching role focussing mostly on teaching web development and social media, though I’m also known as a Jack of All Trades at times too. From both this role and in my free time, I have had the opportunity to work on some interesting web projects that have pushed me to begin pursuing it further.

And just like many people in similar sectors, I’m a massive nerd that can oftentimes influence what I teach and what I make. With web dev now being one of those topics I’m a little obsessed with, I’m eager to learn as much as I can about it and hone my skills.

Project Lead - Boston Story

I had the opportunity to manage a team of learners tasked with creating, updating, and maintaining the website "Boston: The Small Town With a Big Story", on behalf of the local council. As the project lead and lead developer, my responsibilities included overseeing the project's progress and ensuring its successful completion inline with what our clients wanted.

Taking over development from the original creator and group of learners, I have been reponsible for the ongoing expansion and maintenance of the site for the past three years

This was a genuinely insightful and fun project to work on, largely due to the rich history of Boston that had gone unnoticed until the research into the content.

Tails and Trails

A website for our local dog sitter to help her promote her business, built primarily using Bootstrap for ease of responsiveness and development time the project is purely just a simple method for potential customers to get a little more info on Tails and Trails and have access to all contact methods.

I’ve only recently undertaken the project as a thank you for their help and to give me something new to work on. This is hopefully just the start of my freelancing side and will lead to many more similar projects been added here.

I am just putting the finishing touches on the site before making it live, so check back soon for updates and a link to see it for yourself!

... and this!

This website has been built from scratch by me, using nothing but vanilla HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript. Why nothing more? Because I hope to show my skills with the fundamentals rather than dazzle you with fancy frameworks and other tools! I enjoy going back to basics at times, and for a smaller scale website such as this, I don’t often feel that anything else is needed.
